How to Set A Goal.

To set successful goals for yourself, they must be able to motivate you. Motivational goals are of value to you. Choose 3 to 5 goals that are highest on your priority list. In order to choose these, utilize this acronym: S.M.A.R.T

Specific – You must be able to define your goal. If you don’t specifically define your goal, you can procrastinate and lose your way.

Measurable – Give yourself specific guidelines to follow. For example, if you want to “lose weight”, you must set a measurable goal such as “lose 1.5 pounds every week for 12 weeks”.

Attainable – Don’t set a goal that is impossible to complete in your given time frame. Your “lose weight” goal cannot be lose 20 pounds in 20 days. Do not set yourself up for failure. Set a goal that is reasonable and something you can accomplish.

Relevant – Realistic is similar to attainable, so we use relevant in this instance. This goal should be relevant to what you want for your future. You cannot set a goal to lose weight if you are a boxer trying to bulk for a specific heavyweight class. This is a pretty obvious, easy one here, guys!

Timely – Always set a deadline for your goal. If a goal is open ended, there is no sense of urgency for completion. Set a time to accomplish your goal so that you can celebrate at the finish!
